Marshall University’s Department of Communication Disorders will host the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) for a virtual site visit Nov. 8 and 9. The program has applied for continued accreditation of its master’s program in speech-language pathology.
The CAA is seeking public comment as part of the review process. The public is invited to submit written comments prior to the accreditation site visit. Comments are due in the accreditation office by Monday, Oct. 25. Comments can be made via e-mail to accreditation@asha.org or via fax to 301-296-8570.
To attend the virtual public meeting during the site visit, Monday, Nov. 8, from 5:00 p.m.- 5:45 p.m., members of the public must RSVP to Pam Holland at holland@marshall.edu. A zoom link will be sent to those who RSVP.
All written comments must:
- Relate to a program’s compliance with the current standards for accreditation.
- Identify the specific program seeking candidacy, initial accreditation, or continued accreditation with the CAA.
- Include the commenter’s name, address and telephone contact information and the commenter’s relationship to the program in order for accreditation staff to verify the source of the testimony.
- Must be signed.
