Both Justin and Sydnee McElroy grew up in Huntington and attended Marshall. Throughout their careers — Justin’s, which has involved podcasting, YouTube projects and more, and Sydnee’s, which has involved medicine and podcasting — have actively raised funds and supported community organizations such as Harmony House, the Huntington Children’s Museum and the local theater group HART in the Park.
The McElroys’ Sawbones podcast began in 2013, following the success of Justin’s podcast My Brother, My Brother and Me, which he records with brothers Travis and Griffin.
“We are honored and thrilled to be able to include Justin and Sydnee in this year’s HerdCon celebration. They are an inspirational force in our community,” said Michelle Alford with Marshall Libraries. “Their generosity and support for local organizations like Harmony House bring such a positive energy and image to Huntington and the surrounding area, and we are so proud of their accomplishments as natives of the area and [graduates of] Marshall University.”
Presented by Marshall Libraries, HerdCon is free and open to all. It features vendors, cosplay, gaming and more, and will take place March 24-25 at the Memorial Student Center on Marshall’s Huntington campus.
