Last week, Sunbelt Conference members, Appalachian State University and Georgia Southern University and their communities were hit hard by Hurricane Helene and are suffering significant hardships. Many faculty, staff and students from both schools have lost their homes, transportation and so much more. With our upcoming homecoming game against App State, many members of our Marshall community have asked how they can help support our Sunbelt family.

Here is what Marshall University has done thus far to help these communities:
- Marshall Aviation has delivered over 800 personal hygiene kits
- Members of the administration, staff and faculty have made personal donations to relief funds
- The 2024 Marshall University Homecoming Court is directing their philanthropic funds to the relief efforts
- Marshall Athletics has been working with App State to assist with travel, equipment transport needs and practice accommodations
