Event planned to help high school students find a college that ‘fits’

The “Finding a College Without Losing Your Mind” educational workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, in Room BE5 on the lower level of Marshall University’s Memorial Student Center on the Huntington campus.

“There’s no question the college search process can be overwhelming–but it doesn’t have to be,” said Dr. Beth Wolfe, director of recruitment at Marshall. “Sessions are designed to help students and their families understand the concept of finding a school that ‘fits,’ demystify the lingo involved in college admissions and enrollment, and develop strategies for paying for college.”

The workshop is designed for high school juniors and sophomores–and their parents. High school counselors, seniors and others are welcome to attend. Lunch will be provided for all participants.

A brief informational session about Marshall and campus tours will be provided at the end of the day.

Students are asked to RSVP online at http://www.marshall.edu/recruitment/tour-our-campus/ or by calling Meghan Sparrow, special events coordnator, at 304-696-5823.
