“The Class of 2019 and the Student Executive Council sponsored this toy drive, which netted nearly 50 toys and $183 through an Ugly Holiday Sweater event,” said Khoa D. Nguyen, a 3rd-year pharmacy student. “Knowing we were helping children in our community was good for us because it helped alleviate some of the stress associated with finals week and made a positive impact on our community at the same time.”
Marshall pharmacy students participate in dozens of community outreach activities every year including drug take-back days, senior activity events and drug abuse awareness outreach to local public school students.
Marshall University opened its school of pharmacy in 2012. The inaugural class will graduate in May 2016.
