In the Know: Course Availability

As we start the term, we realize that sometimes there are changes to the course schedule. It is important to note that any course additions to the University Fall 2023 schedule after August 11th will not appear in Blackboard automatically. If the Blackboard section is needed for the course, it must be manually added. To request that a course be added to Blackboard, submit a Service Now – Blackboard Support Ticket. Please include the Course and Section, along with the CRN and username of the instructor of record.

Student Resources and Events, Info to Share with your Students:

Support Services for Online Students: Marshall Online will host “Introducing Support Services for Online Students” on Tuesday, August 29, at 6:00 pm. All online students are invited. Please encourage your online students to join us via this Teams link.

What do students know about Ultra? During our transition to Ultra, students will see some of their classes in original Learn and others in Ultra. Marshall Online’s plan to support students during this transition includes 1) posting an Ultra Info for Students” module on the Institution page, 2) emailing students the first week of class about the Ultra upgrade, 3) presenting on Ultra during WOW, 4) giving student-facing staff (such as advisors and tutors) an overview of Ultra, and 5) continuing to collaborate with SGA.

Please direct students to Marshall Online Student Services for additional information about Ultra.

Counseling for Online Students: Marshall University Counseling Center has partnered with Mantra Health to offer students a telehealth option. This resource is ideal for online, out-of-state, and working students.

New Online Graduate Orientation: Marshall Online collaborated with departments across campus to develop an orientation that introduces online students to resources, services, and campus leaders. The online orientation will assist students with on-boarding and also serve as a resource they can refer to throughout their Marshall journey.
