Heidi Blaisdell

Biography

Heidi brings her teaching experience and research interests to her role as an instructional designer. Before coming to Marshall, she taught composition at Nashville State Community College for 14 years. She earned her Ph.D. in English, with a focus on Comp/Rhet and Pedagogy, from Middle Tennessee State University. Her research interests include trauma-informed teaching practices, course design that fosters empathy and belonging, and faculty well-being. Her work has been published in Teaching English in the Two-Year College, The Journal of Multimodal Rhetorics, and The Community College Library
