The Master of Sciences in Physical and Applied Science at Marshall University is intended to provide the opportunity for students with diverse qualifications to improve the depth and breadth of their knowledge in the Physical Sciences.

Students can choose from two areas of emphasis: Geology or Physics for Teachers.
This degree program helps propel students to advanced teaching positions and positions in research and development.
The thesis option is available for the Physics for Teachers area of emphasis. A thesis track is required for the Geography area of emphasis.
Graduates for the program are well-prepared to teach high school physics, aiming to inspire the next generation. They can also pursue roles in educational administration, higher education, or continue their studies with a doctoral program.
