The Education Specialist (EdS) in Curriculum and Instruction is designed for experienced educators and professionals seeking to support their classroom teaching, instructional coaching, curriculum specialists, and more.
The EdS program is also for students interested in pursuing a terminal degree, such as a Doctor of Education (EdD) in Curriculum and Instruction.

This graduate degree program is the only one of its kind offered among graduate schools in West Virginia.
Fifteen hours of core courses focus on the development of scholarly research and writing skills along with technology integration. Twelve hours of specialization courses focus on curriculum and instruction concepts.
Students complete a capstone project that integrates their learning and demonstrates their expertise in curriculum and instruction.
This program is designed to help students enhance their existing careers in the education field, continue education, or advance to roles such as curriculum specialists or university professors.
