Biography
Dr. Mary Catherine Platz received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy in 2022. After graduation, she completed a Community Based Pharmacy Residency at West Virginia University in partnership with Kroger Health. Her residency site was located at a community pharmacy within Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio. During her residency she staffed in a pharmacist-led outpatient anticoagulation clinic and she completed her Teaching Certificate through West Virginia University School of Pharmacy.
Following the completion of her residency in 2023, Dr. Platz joined Marshall University as a Clinical Assistant Professor. Dr. Platz is a member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and the West Virginia Pharmacist Association (WVPA). Her practice interests include patient and medication safety, point of care testing, and anticoagulation therapy management.
