The Marshall University School of Physical Therapy (MUSOPT) is seeking nominations for the Outstanding MUSOPT Alumni Award. This award recipient should display outstanding development in the areas of service and leadership. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have impacted the profession of physical therapy, displayed professional growth, and shown a track record of making contributions to their local community. The nomination deadline is April 4, 2025.
Qualifications for nomination to include the following:
- 4 years of postgraduate experience (nominations <4 years will be held until threshold met.)
- Service to a PT program (Clinical Instructor or Adjunct Faculty)
- Professional development (Teaching Continued Education or In-service Development)
- Community Service (Leadership in civic organizations, Local boards, Community planning, etc.)
- Leadership roles (Professional local/state/national organizational roles)
- Post DPT education achievement (PhD, EdD, DSc, DHS, MBA, residency/fellowship/certifications)
- Specialization training via the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists
- Research engagement and/or publications
Each nomination will be required to have a primary nomination and one additional secondary letter of support. Additionally, an updated CV is recommended.
The selection process will consist of the MUSOPT Alumni committee reviewing nominations followed by full faculty review of all qualified nominations.
The awardee will be recognized at the annual white coat ceremony, displayed on MUSOPT website, and on a hallway plaque within MUSOPT.
