Biography

Sergeant First Class Shelly is from Burkeville, TX where he entered the United States Army in June 2005 and completed One Station Unit Training as an Infantryman at Fort Moore, Georgia.

SFC Shelly served as 120mm Mortar gunner and Squad leader in 1-77 AR, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division Schweinfurt, Germany. He then served as a Mortar Section Sergeant for 2-4 Infantry Battalion in 3rd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division Fort Johnson, LA. SFC Shelly then served as an Army Combatives Instructor at Fort Moore, GA. He was then assigned as a Drill Sergeant in 2-19th Infantry Battalion, 198th Infantry Regiment. SFC Shelly also fulfilled the assignment as a Mortar Platoon Sergeant at 1-16 Infantry Regiment, 1Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, KS.

SFC Shelly currently serves as the Military Science Instructor at Marshall University’s Army ROTC “Thundering Herd” Battalion.
