Our Services and Resources
Clubs & Organizations

With over 240 student organizations, the LEAD Center provides a wide range of opportunities for students to get involved. Student organizations have a significant impact in providing effective learning environments for students, preparing them to live and work in a global community.

If interested in joining a club or organization, students can browse HerdLink to gain more information and insight about the organizations that match their interests.

Fraternity & Sorority Life

Being a part of a fraternity or a sorority is a great way to be involved in not only the campus community, but in the local community as well.

Marshall University has been the host of fraternities and sororities for 97 years. Today, the community has over 500 students holding membership in 17 organizations. The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) focuses on scholarship, unity, service and philanthropy, and leadership.

LEAD Center

The LEAD Center supports the academic mission of the institution by creating a vibrant co-curricular Marshall Student Experience.

This is achieved through the incorporation of outside the classroom programming, mentorship, educational activities, community engagement opportunities, and leadership development. We empower our students to become active in campus organizations so they may learn, grow, and achieve success beyond their collegiate experience.

Leadership & Service Awards

Each year the Division of Student Affairs presents awards to outstanding members of the Marshall University student community. These awards recognize the students’ contribution to the university in leadership roles and in service to the university and the community. There are also two awards that recognize the outstanding contributions of faculty or staff members in their role as advisor to a student organization.

Student Government Association

The Student Government Association (SGA) fosters joint responsibility of students, faculty members and administration for the achievement of Marshall’s educational objectives.

SGA’s focuses on the overall well-being of students at Marshall. SGA serves as the vehicle of the Marshall student body, to field its concerns, to provide students with real results, and creates programs and initiatives to enhance the collegiate experience.

The Green Machine
