Please visit the Office of Study Abroad in Old Main 105 to seek advising on Marshall’s study abroad programs and to pick-up an application. General deadlines are: Fall semester – February 1, Spring semester – September 1. Some programs deadlines may vary.
✓ RECEIVE OFFICIAL ADMISSION TO PROGRAM
All study abroad programs through Marshall University will issue an official admission letter that may or may not be needed for entry to your host country or to obtain a visa.
✓ MEET WITH YOUR FINANCIAL AID ADVISOR
Your advisor will be able to help you determine if aid you receive could be applied toward your study abroad program.
✓ APPLY FOR ENTRY VISA (NOTE: some countries require a study visa for students remaining in their country beyond 4 months)
Please seek advising from the Study Abroad office as all countries require different policies and documentation when applying for an entry visa.
✓ PURCHASE HEALTH INSURANCE
All Marshall students who participate in a Marshall University sponsored study abroad program MUST have international health insurance prior to their departure. Please see the Office of Study Abroad for information on purchasing the required coverage.
Please check with the Study Abroad Office whether your program requires your to purchase the health insurance or whether it is included in the price.
