Marshall University Sustainability is pleased to announce their partnership with The Lettuce Grow Project of Huntington WV.
The Lettuce Grow Project provides a meaningful urban gardening experience in a fully integrated setting for young adults with developmental disabilities and Autism. They teach urban gardening techniques in a person centered supported learning environment.
Their highly structured training program teaches participant’s urban gardening techniques, including skills such as planting, harvesting, crop management and sales in the local food network. The program is supported through strong partnerships with us and Autism Training Center, as well as relationships with Unlimited Futures, Inc. and The Wild Ramp in Huntington, WV.
For the 2017 growing season are planting micro-greens, lettuce, spinach, and herbs.
