HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WMUL-FM) — Marshall aims to bounce back after a tough loss, continuing the homestand against James Madison.
The Herd comes off a tough loss in its previous home match to the Troy Trojans 58-57. James Madison comes in winners of its last three games, previously against Arkansas State 67-62.
Marshall had a chance for victory in the final seconds against Troy, with Mikal Dawson having a good look at a corner three, but the shot just missed, allowing Troy to get the rebound and run the last few seconds off the clock.
The Herd seeks to improve in the shooting category after shooting just 33% from the field and going 1-10 from three-point land.
James Madison wrapped up a three game homestand with a five-point win over Arkansas State. The Dukes enter the contest 9-6, 2-1 in conference play. James Madison has yet to win a road game this year, going 0-4.
At home, Marshall has been dominant. The loss last Saturday to Troy was only the second home loss on the season, as the Herd is now 8-2.
In three-point shooting, James Madison ranks second in the conference, shooting 35.9%. Meanwhile, Marshall ranks last at 28.1%.
Bryce Lindsay leads the Dukes in scoring through 14 games played, despite not starting in any of the 14 games. Lindsay averages the third most minutes among the Dukes and averages 13 points per game. For Marshall, Obinna Anochili-Killen leads in scoring at 13.1 points per game, and was the only one against Troy to reach double-digit scoring.
