HUNTINGTON, W. VA. (WMUL-FM) – Marshall women’s basketball is still in search of its first Sun Belt Conference victory of the 2024-25 campaign as it begins a four-game homestand Wednesday against James Madison.

The Thundering Herd have dropped its last five games to start conference play. Four of the first five games were played away from the Cam Henderson Center; a place that the Thundering Herd have had more success than failure this season.

Marshall looks to capitalize on its extended stay in Huntington and create momentum to help its efforts once it must travel once again. Marshall’s overall record is 5-11. The Thundering Herd is 4-3 at home, 0-7 on the road, and 1-1 while playing at neutral sites.

The Dukes have had the exact opposite season as the Thundering Herd. James Madison sits atop the Sun Belt Conference rankings with an undefeated 5-0 record. With that, the Dukes are currently on a five-game winning streak and look to continue that streak against a struggling Marshall team. James Madison’s record heading into Wednesday’s matchup is 13-4 with a 5-2 record on the road this season.

Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. at the Cam Henderson Center with live coverage on WMUL-FM 88.1 and online at www.marshall.edu/WMUL. Pregame coverage begins at 5:30 p.m. FM88 Sports Nate Courtney and Connor Brown will have the call.
