Black History Month kicked off February 1 celebrating Carter G. Woodson day. The Lyceum celebrated the father of black history and his many accomplishments and WMUL was invited to take part in the celebrations. Our own Social Media Director Lillie Bodie, Production Director Seth Payne and Online Director Monica Zalaznik were in attendance. The Faculty Director of WMUL Dr. Charles Bailey attended as well with invitations from Professor Burnis Morris. One of the speakers included Earl Lewis the President of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. President of Marshall University Jerome Gilbert gave a speech in honor of Dr. Woodson.

The Lyceum was the first event of many black history month activities and for a whole schedule of events look here http://www.marshall.edu/blackhistorymonth/
